2. Sushi Heart formed from entwined Green and Red Dragon Rolls

Inamo is known for being forward- thinking and in a world where technology can often distract us from the person we are sharing a meal with, they’ve tried to combat this through their fully interactive ordering and special Valentine’s sharing menu. Their sumptuous menu begins with a Sashimi Rose and Sushi Heart Sharing Slate that’s cute, quirky and light-hearted. The fun heart display is created from the freshest green and red dragon rolls to start the menu off with a tasty bang. For those who are vegetarian, fear not, there is an equally delicious variation with a heart formed of red dragon rolls and an arrow made of tempura maki. To keep you engaged and entertained while you wait, the interactive table can be transformed into a tablecloth of your choice, a way to play a variety of games such as battleships, or you can watch the chefs create your romantic starter. Inamo have really considered how to keep dates sacred and created a menu that encourages intimacy and sharing.

3. Lozere leg of lamb, wild mushrooms, dauphinoise, madeira sauce

When we think of romance, we often think of the French and their cuisine. Le Café du Marche has created an exquisite, somewhat extravagant and certainly decadent menu for Valentine’s Day this year. One of the stand out dishes is the made for sharing Lozere leg of lamb, adorned with perfectly cooked wild mushrooms, creamy dauphinoise and the classic French madeira sauce which is velvety and rich. There a couple dishes on the menu made for sharing, but this is the perfect main course before the array of vibrant and flavourful desserts. Fresh pasta and rick pumpkin are combined with leafy, rainbow chard, wonderfully cooked baby turnips, the subtle nutty taste of smoked almonds, and the strong flavour of ages parmesan. Flavours are present from bun to filling and it is cooked to perfection all the way through. The charcoal bun is home to the beef which is infused with truffle for added decadence; topped with lettuce, tomato, and onions it is taken to the next level with truffle brie. Accompanied with truffle chips, this a place for good food and a good talking point.

The traditional pudding is an exciting infusion of creamy, saffron-laced milk, shards of rose petal jaggery brittle and delicately adorned almonds. This dessert is both aesthetically pleasing with its vibrancy and colours, and delicious; it melts and makes it effortless to devour.

10. Baked Alaska

Another place which is offering French cuisine for our lovebirds to dine on this Valentine’s Day is Greg Marchand’s Frenchie. The highly praised restaurant offers couples a fantastically intimate setting, with an elegant menu in order to create the romantic atmosphere we’ve come to expect on Valentine’s Day. For this year’s event, a five-course tasting menu has been carefully created that demonstrates some of the highlights of French cuisine. The indulgent finale of this tasting menu is the vibrant dessert that looks and tastes incredible. It is a baked Alaska, but not quite as we know it. The bright green colour inside is enhanced and brought to us by the mint and chartreuse (for a boozy kick) and is encased with chocolate and baked meringue. Guittard chocolate has been used in this dessert to ensure your taste buds experience their own pleasure; the creamy and intense flavour of Guittard complements the mint exquisitely.
